Our approach
After a lockdown, a threat, or an exercise, districts need to know what worked and what did not, from someone outside the building. We collect data independently, analyze performance against the plan and the standard, and deliver findings to the superintendent and school board in a form they can act on and defend.
Review services
For exercises and for real events.
- Exercise after-action reports: HSEEP-format reports for school tabletop and functional exercises.
- Incident reviews: Independent review of lockdowns, threats, and other real incidents, including partner response.
- Stakeholder interviews: Confidential interviews with staff, responders, and where appropriate, families.
- Performance analysis: Analysis against the plan, the standard response protocol, and state requirements.
Findings and improvement
What the district does next.
- Board and leadership briefing: Findings presented to the superintendent and school board at an appropriate level of detail.
- Improvement plan: Corrective actions with owners and timelines for the district and each partner agency.
- Plan and procedure updates: Findings carried into the emergency operations plan and reunification plan.
- Validation exercise: The next exercise designed to test whether the corrective actions worked.
